The Directorate Of Fire & Emergency Services is conducting training in Disaster Management for Civil Defence Volunteer of the State in USAR, MFR and Fire Fighting at the request of National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India.
The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services has imparted USAR, MFR and Fire Fighting training for the personnel of Police, Home Guards & Civil Defence Volunteers of the State Disaster Response Force. Wherein 64 candidates were trained by DFES.
On 21st May 2018, The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services had procured a Fire Safety Educational Van to impart training and awareness towards Fire Safety and Disaster Management for General Public, Schools, Village Panchayats and various self help groups. Till date 10,598 Citizens across the state have been trained.
The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services has imparted Training for staff of the Directorate of Health Services at all three Zones i.e. North Zone, South Zone and Central Zone. DFES has trained 125 nos. of candidates in Basic Fire Safety & Evacuation Drill Procedure under this training programme.
The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services has imparted Training in Disaster Management for the trainees of Bharat Scouts and Guides wherein 30 candidates were trained by DFES.
The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services has started Training at Village Panchayat Level in Basic Fire Safety & Disaster Preparedness Programme in the year 2014 and till date 3602 nos. of volunteers across the State have been trained by DFES.
The Government of India has initiated the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) with a view to address cyclone risks in the country. The overall objective of the Project is to undertake suitable structural and non-structural measures to mitigate the effects of cyclones in the coastal states and UT’s of India.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will implement the Project in coordination with participating State Governments and the National Institute for Disaster Management (NIDM).
